Coaches Corner | Ol Gee
Ol Gee is coach of AA??
How did you get into coaching football?
I’ve always fancied coaching junior football as a way of staying in the game when I get older. This will hopefully give me additional skills to do this (if the coaching course ever gets sorted!).
What has the focus for your team been during the first few weeks of the season?
Fitness whilst having fun. We have a team that is capable of doing well in the league but also wants to have a laugh. So we train hard but also have a couple of beers at the Porterhouse or The Reg after the game.
How many seasons have you been with the club?
Four. I joined in my 30s once I’d negotiated an exit from my club back in London (the mighty Old Guildfordians).
What excites you the most about Season 2015?
Renewing the rivalries with Kytherians and Coogee.
What do you or would you want your players to say about you?
They’ll hope I’m better at coaching than heading.
Any standout coaches in your life who helped shape you?
Chris and Bas for beginning what myself and Ben hope to finish.
