Weekend Update – 8th May
Weekend Games
After what feels like a month of rain, the sun is shining and the grounds are drying up we will hopefully see a full round of fixtures played this weekend. The Reg Bartley Oval will host games both on Saturday & Sunday this weekend, so get down and support our teams and we will see you all back at The Porterhouse post game.
Both Championship teams will hope to bounce back following heavy defeats against Coogee last weekend. Waverley have always proved a test in the past, but both coaches will be hoping to sure up the defence this week after conceding on too many occasions recently. Come down and support the lads at a rare home match at the Reg this season. Kickoff times below.

Dunbar Rovers FC VS Waverley Old Boys
3PM: First Grade
Dunbar Rovers FC VS Waverley Old Boys
Saturday see’s the return of the Dunbar junior’s hub at NCIE from 8.30 for kids aged 3 – 7! With a couple of weeks off due to the bad weather, I’m sure the kids will be raring to go!

10AM: Dunbar Rovers FC VS Sydney Uni AA8 (Sat) B
The sat 8’s have the chance to make amends for the 2-0 defeat to Sydney Uni B on the opening day of the season. Hopefully we finish this game with 11 men on the field and no sitters missed from 3 yards out…Craig and Cathal you have been warned!
With 6 of our next 8 games at home at NCIE (weather permitting) and coming off the back of a good win against UNSW u21’s and a solid training session on Tuesday night the lads are looking to kick on up the league and make the NCIE a fortress and gain some valuable fantasy league points in the process.
We have our U12 boys playing their first home game of the season. The boys are undefeated having won 5-1, 14 -1 and 14 -2 in their first 3 rounds and should be promoted if they continue in this rich rain of form after this weekend’s clash with Pagewood.

11am #AA6 vs Redfern Raiders AA6
AA6s will look to continue the strong start to the season but are expecting a big step up in quality when they face Redfern. A number of key players are away including Russ Hoad and Ryan Coombs, but the return to a potential Gordon Bryan and Gavin McCormack combination and a return to fitness of James Aspinall gives the lads a chance. Reece Appleton is also due a goal!
1pm #AA2 vs Queens Park FC AA2 R
For the first time this season, the AA2s will be able to name a full strength squad. Let’s hope the result will reflect this, and get their season off the mark.
3pm #AA1 vs Queens Park FC AA1
AA1 will hope to bounce back after a dip in form during a midweek catch-up.
