G12 Dunbar Rovers FC vs G12 Maccabi FC

The girls came with game faces on and the understanding this was a must win game if our season was going to continue.

The game started strong in attack at a high intensity and it was obvious the girls knew they needed an early goal to get the show on the road.
After several chances being thrown at the Maccabi defence it was inevitable the ball was soon going to find its way into the back of the net, but not how we expected. A corner was won and Lucy stepped up from defence to take it. A high looping ball in towards the keeper curled round at the front post and in. Contender for goal of the season saw us 1-0 up and it didn’t stop there. A short while later Sidonie played a ball down to Millie who played a perfect cross to Dede who took the shot superbly first time and in it went 2-0! The girls attacked ferociously with the defence clearing their lines keeping Esme out of the action in goals

Second half saw more attacking football and more great goals with a perfectly hit penalty from Erika, two great finishes from ‘Lady of the Match’ Millie and another cracking shot from Eliza and a well deserved goal from the hard working Sidonie who took advantage of a Maccabi defensive mistake.

This Sunday brings us face to face in the Preliminary Final with Pagewood Blues.
