Queens Park FC G12 Rockets vs Dunbar Rovers FC G12
Match Report:14th June 2015 at Queens Park
After last weeks solid performance we were looking to continue this on with some beautiful football.
With the girls pumped to go a delay in the game before us had us waiting around longer than planned and it’s fair to say once we got on, the girls heads were else where. With our hearts in our mouths Queens Park Rockets put pressure on us running at our defence, but Lara, Lucy, Edie & Bella stood their ground and last ditch defending kept them away from Georgia and our goal.
The girls worked hard trying to get through their defence but QP were strong at the back taking no prisoners. After a battle down the wing by Sidonie the ball made its way to Vicky who made a pinpoint pass to Eliza to shoot and score! 1-0 Dunbar!
The ball travelled up and down the pitch for the remainder of the half and we were unlucky to get a second from a great shot by Dede that went just over the bar.
After some stern half time talk the second half saw improvements with the Queens Park girls spending most of the half defending.
No goals came until a battle broke out in the corner between Sienna and the QP defence with Sienna coming out the winner with the ball at her feet and skipping past defenders she found Eliza who shot the ball across the box to a waiting Chloe who took the shot perfectly into the goal. 2-0 Dunbar!
Dunbar continued this momentum and almost straight away Eliza took the ball down the right wing and a cracking shot saw us go up 3-0!
The girls had finally settled the game down with Chloe showing great confidence, skill and endless effort down the right flank to gain Lady of the Match!
A very valuable 3pts which puts us joint top with Pagewood Blue. Now to focus on a massive game on Friday under the lights!
